Runestone Farm LLC offers a variety of equine services including beginner riding lessons and instruction. Lessons offered are private, semi-private, and group depending on individual needs. We are also home to A Leg Up Equine, Inc., an equine facilitated program for at-risk youth and children with amazing research proven results.

We also offer the serious competitor a place to hone and develop their skills. Our head trainer is an FEI level competitor and trainer who competed through advanced level eventing and fourth level dressage. She won numerous awards including the Harry T. Peter's Trophy, National Jr. Champion for USEA, North American Young Riders Gold Medal and Silver Medal, and several USEA Area 4 awards including Intermediate Rider of the Year and Advanced Horse and Rider of the Year. Training is based on the classical training pyramid. The rider's safety and horse's welfare are always of utmost concern to us. Clinic dates are available.

Runestone Farm also offers quality sporthorses, warmbloods, and homebred thoroughbreds for sale. These horses are correctly started and vary in age from foals, 2 year-olds, 3 year-olds, 4 year-olds, to riding horses with competition records. Bloodlines include Domiro, Donnerhall, Donavan, Val de l'Orne, Secretariat, My Babu, Snowfords Bellman, Damascus, Chicago Six, Play Fellow, Tantris, and Aktuell, to name a few. Breed registries include Irish Draft Sporthorse, Thoroughbred, Oldenburg, Westfalen, Hannoverian, Dutch Warmblood, Cleveland Bay, Haflinger, and Holsteiner. Our horses compete at USEA sponsored events, USDF dressage shows, and USEF A rated hunter/jumper shows.

Boarding is available on a limited basis due to the private atmosphere at the farm and individualized care horses receive. Our facilities include a large indoor arena with mirrors, matted, box stalls, standard all weather dressage outdoor, jump field, trails, automatic waterers, all weather paddocks, and large pastures. We are also located a short hack from two forest preserves.

Instructors are professional educators and our head instructor, Kelly Theisen, is currently enrolled in the United States Eventing Association's Instructor Certification Program.
